AECF
ABOUT US
Situated in Sangkhla Buri, Thailand, close to the Thai-Burmese border, AECF Thailand was created by the same ethnic minority people that they have dedicated their lives to serve. Understanding the hardships of escaping from one of humanity's longest-running civil wars into a foreign country that was not their own, the staff at AECF Thailand have devoted themselves to building a community of hope on the border and to take in those escaping the tragedy of civil war.
Since their arrival into Thailand many years ago, Nandoe and Paw Lu Lu, two Karen ethnic minority refugees, have initiated many projects to enrich the lives of ethnic minority refugees living on the Thai-Burma border, such as the Sangkhla Buri Safehouse and the Huaymulai Children's home, with the selfless ambition to take in and care for people from all walks of life regardless of race, religion and social standing. With those in their care ranging from orphans, the elderly, HIV patients and the mentally ill, their work has inspired many and gained them recognition on the international stage.
Nando, Paw Lu Lu, and their family have since established a strong community on the Thai-Burma border and have motivated people across the globe to join them in their struggle against social inequality.
AECF Thailand has been built to establish a platform to highlight specific projects designed to support this work.
